This Vicarious Life began in 2016 as a simple curiosity—a desire to meet and photograph women in my community who were doing meaningful, engaging, and often unexpected work. Over time, the project has grown into an ongoing exploration of women from all walks of life, in Colorado and beyond, pursuing passions and professions both newly discovered and decades in the making. Each time a woman agrees to meet and be photographed, it feels like an honor. Through these encounters, I’m able not only to document and share her story, but also to momentarily experience the world through her eyes—to live, if only briefly, a vicarious life.
