This Vicarious Life began in 2016 as a simple curiosity—a desire to meet and photograph people in my community who were doing meaningful, engaging, and often unexpected work. Over time, the project has grown into an ongoing exploration of folks from all walks of life, in Colorado and beyond, pursuing passions and professions both newly discovered and decades in the making. Each time someone agrees to meet and be photographed, it feels like an honor. Through these encounters, I’m able not only to document and share their story, but also to momentarily experience the world through their eyes—to live, if only briefly, a vicarious life.
